Let me make this easy for you right from the git go; Primitive Hearts sound like the Ramones. "I love the Ramones!" Yes, I know. We all love The Ramones. Knock on your neighbor's door right now and ask them if they love the Ramones. They do. They may very well just call the cops on you but they definitely still love the Ramones. Hell, the cop that will show up at your door shortly after will love the Ramones. Everyone loves the Ramones. Why? Because they made extremely accessible and catchy tunes with an energy everyone can appreciate. Know who else does this? "Royal Headache!" Correct. But also Primitive Hearts. These four tracks exude a power pop anthemicity (yup, we just made that up) that is simply unfuckwithable (someone else made that up). Each song is blissfully memorable. Now, let me make clear that this is no Ramones rip off we are talking about, though. The garage-punk-dipped-in-bubblegum deal is definitely present, but there is an understated raw-ness to this 7" that makes it both modern and unique. As a matter of fact, in my quest to find the perfect Burger/Goner/Hozak band comparison, I came up short. Despite these guys fitting in perfectly with your Hunx collection, I wouldn't dare tell you they sound like anything but Primitive Hearts (and if that's not worth $4.99 USD then... I guess we won't have $4.99...). Repress co-released between FDH, P. Trash, & Resurrection Records.
