Hey all, wow time has flewn by! This is our first post of the new year. The first thing we’re very pleased to say that starting February 1st,  we’ll have a retail store in sunny Santa Ana, California(See flyer for address and store hours). It is co-op store, along with the great long running crust / anarcho / peace punk label MASS MEDIA RECORDS (click on label name for website link)

Secondly, our newest release, MDK- The Moon Maiden Flexi will hit the stores in early February(we’ll be posting updates here). Preorders of  this release are up for sale now in our webstore HERE. The special pre-order edition is limited to 50 copies, and comes with a limited edition pin, and a special cover that is only available through pre-order.

***All customers who pre-order the MDK Flexi will be automatically entered in a RAFFLE, and 3 lucky winners will receive a test press with their order!! Test presses are limited to only 5 copies and come with a special edition cover***

3 Different Versions of this record will be available: the regular edition (400 copies), the pre-order edition(50 copies), and the Japanese press(50 copies). For everyone in Japan please check back in with Record Base Shop in early February, they’ll have a special edition of the record only available to you!

In other news, we will also be distributing the newest La Corde 7″. The band self released it, and they are printing up the covers now. Another update will be posted when it’s officially out, most likely towards the end of this month.

After that comes The Shrine- Bless Off Cassette Tape will be out in February. This will be a 3 way split release along with Eliminator Records, and In For The Kill Records. The Shrine play 60′s style,  solo driven in your face rock ‘n roll that will melt your face!! (Cover artwork pending). Check out their facebook page HERE.

We’re also getting started on the Night Beats / TRMRS Split 7″. We’re stoked to say that we will be co-releasing this with Volcom Entertainment. More news to come on that in a month or so. Artwork by Dusty Dirtweed / Mushroom Necklace (Thee Oh Sees, Ty Segall, Wax Idols)

Later this year comes releases from Bad Reaction, White Murder, The Shrills, & more. Also as always new distro titles are added weekly, so stay tuned and keep checking back with us for updates!

WINTER HOLIDAY SALE:

Also all orders placed from now until january 5th will receive our releases / distributed titles for free. We will match whatever you buy and give you double the order. So- anyone who orders ANY 7″ from our store will receive a free random 7″ from our label’s releases, and anyone who orders ANY LP from our store will receive a free random LP from our releases.  Any tape purchased will also recieve a free tape, and so on. There’s tons of great deals in our webstore and shipping is cheap so order up! We’re adding new records weekly until all of our inventory is uploaded. Check out our store HERE

NEW RELEASES:

The MDK- Moon Maiden Flexi is our next release. It will be out in late January / early February. It has already been mastered by the great MAMMOTH SOUND. The plant is closed for the holidays, so we’re just waiting on them to re-open till we can get this monster into production. First pressing is strictly limited to 500 copies and will sell out fast- so get on that as soon as it’s out.

After that comes the NIGHT BEATS / TRMRS split 7″, which goes into production in January, and it will hopefully be available for the Night Beats / TRMRS tour in March. We will be co-releasing this bad boy with VOLCOM ENTERTAINMENT.

Third, we just added WHITE MURDER to our label! They are a killer, in your face garage punk band with dual female vocals and great rythmn sections. Includes members of DEATH HYMN NUMBER 9  & JAIL WEDDINGS. We will be releasing a brand new 7″ from White Murder this spring so stay tuned! They also just self-released their first 7″ in November, and we have a few copies available for purchase in our store HERE.

RR-009 The Shrills- Ghoul Kids Tape $4 Retail / $2.50 Wholesale
The Shrills reside in the suburbs of Orange County California. They play creepy, echoey, reverbed out garage punk with an added surf influence. Featuring 3 guitars, and 3 different singers, The Shrills add an angry, psychedellic, and technical twist to the normal garage punk style while still having that nostalgic 50′s and 60′s rock n’ roll feel. This album was recorded at the Distillery in Costa Mesa, CA Summer 2011 on all analog. No computers used whatsoever. All copies come with digital download coupon. First press is on clear purple tapes. LP out in mid 2012 on Resurrection Records with added bonus songs.

RR-007 Cat Party / La Corde “Rik L Rik” Split 7” $5 Retail / $3.25 Wholesale
This record contains 4 tracks of dark, delay drenched punk at its best. Each band does a Rik L Rik cover on the A Side, and an original on the B Side. La Corde starts things off with their cover of “Atomic Lawn.” It’s played at an upbeat pace that’s a great kick off to the record. On the next track Cat Party creeps you out on the already dark “Black & Red.” The B Side starts off with Cat Party’s original, “Reflection or Illusion.” It has a great dark, surfy vibe to it. The record comes to a finish with La Corde’s original, “Signals.” It takes on an intense approach to their already perfect post-punk sound. Cover art by Tristan Ellis & mastering by Mammoth Sound. 600 copies pressed on random colored vinyl. Includes free digital download.

Cat Party / La Corde Split test presses came in today. They sound great!! Sorry for the delay but the pressing plant took longer than expected to finish them. All preorders will be sent by friday and will include a free random 7″ since you had to wait longer than expected. The regular edition will be out by October 1st, and preorders for that version are up now.

Cat Party / La Corde “Rik L Rik” Split 7″ is now at the plant. Should be about in about a month to a month and a half tops. We’re now taking preorders for the Test Press version of the 7″, the link to buy it in our store is below. The test press is limited to 20 copies, and only 10 of which will be for sale. All come with a different cover than the normal press and will be hand numbered. So get it while you still can!

La Corde is also self releasing a new 7″ that will be out in the next few weeks. Cat Party has a new LP out as well, and they’re going on tour this weekend to support it. If you live on the west coast they’ll be coming to a city near you. So go see them play and buy their new record.

Mojo Hand- The Complete Mojo Tape out now!
The final posthumous release from Mojo Hand. This is their complete discography, containing 13 songs from their only 3 recording sessions. Hailing from Oakland, California, Mojo Hand plays dirty, grimy, completely bad ass 60’s rock ‘n roll. Super rockin’ songs with an added punk twist. Each song is just as catchy as the next, but they add a little variety in with each song.

First off, we’re super stoked about our newest release. The Cat Party / La Corde split 7″ is in the works now, expect that to be out in late July/early August. It will be a 4 songs. The A side will be 1 original by each band, and on the B side each band will cover a RIK L RIK song. La Corde does Atomic Lawn, and Cat Party will be doing Meathouse. It’s going to be a total rager for sure.

MDK tapes are back in stock. We were sold our for a short while. This time they’re on black tapes. Over 400 sold and still going strong!

If you were waiting on any of our earlier releases, be sure to pick them up now because they are all near out of print. We’ve still got TRMRS LP’s and Mojo Hand 7″s in stock but everything else is down to the last few copies.

And as always keep checking our store often, new records are posted weekly. We’re trying to get our entire stock on our site. Its a looonnnng process.

TRMRS- Sea Things LP OUT NOW!

Just got these babies in and they look AMAZING.

Bio:

Pronounced “Tremors.” Sea Things is the debut album from these Southern California garage punk rockers. It’s obvious that a lot of time and care was put into this record. The cover is a collage of awesome trippy artwork made by singer Tommy Stewart. Sea Things contains 12 tracks of raw, catchy 60′s/70′s fuzzy surf/pop punk with tons of energy and cool hooks throughout. TRMRS always keep you on your feet, and each song is a bit different. They play music similar to other so cal bands like Audacity, Moonhearts, Cumstain, Cosmonauts, Le Face, etc. Limited to only 600 copies. A must have!
